Sorry, I didn’t answer this question originally because:-
1. It’s in a section "For Ladies" that I seldom look at.
2. The subject "Dress making" is something I know nothing about AND it didn’t reflect the fact that you were actually posing a question about: "Where can I get a skirt altered near Vamos?
If you ask Aspasia in the IN.KA supermarket in Kefalas, she will give you the name of a lady in (I think) Drapanos.
If you ask any female Greek shop owner in Vamos she’ll probably give you a name.
If you go to Souda you’ll find a "White Goods" shop up a side street that’s roughly opposite the grain silos. The owner, Katerina, does clothing repairs and alterations. The shop sells everything you could need for sewing, knitting, cross-stitch and also "white goods" (i.e. linens).
Just hold on a minute – The Ladies section of this site is for ladies isn’t it? If it isn’t, then I will NEVER be posting here again! As it happens the subject matter in this instance wasn’t of a "ladies" nature but if it had been does that mean that men are just allowed to get involved in ladies conversation which could be anything from breasts to "other" parts I have misunderstood the concept of this sub-heading – have other ladies also misunderstood this?
Now that I know that any Tom, Dick and Harry can drop in on "The Ladies" section to see where to get an up to date smear /mammogram test and stay in touch with our medical history, I understand why this section is rarely used.
