        Crete’s Knossos Palace: First Place to Bury Rubbish

        Unless I have really misunderstood, not only did the Minoan civilization 3,000 years BC have flushing water toilets at Knossos Palace, Crete but they were the first people to dispose of their domestic and animal waste by burying the rotting stuff in the ground. No mean feat, when you come think about it as there isn’t much top soil to work with in that area.

        That means the slaves must have been busy moving countless rocks and stones.
