I know times are hard but I have a fantastic plot of land for sale so if you are looking,or maybe know someone who wants still to retire in this beautiful part of Crete, then contact me.
It is a stunning plot of nearly 6000 sqm on which you can build a large villa. It is totally secluded and always will be, is set in amazing countryside, with protected views of the sea, mountains, and a gorge. It is very quiet, and yet is only a few kms from Vamos with all its amenities and a short drive to the beach.
Price has just been reduced to 175K,and I can maybe recommend a good construction company still going strong,it’s just crying out for a luxury villa and pool! :)

            Ganesh,

Do you have any pictures of the land and its views and how long have you owned it?

Yes and I will try and put them on the site. Not being very computer literate I may be some time.Owned for 3 years I think and decided not to build,(even though villa and pool all designed)due to personal circumstances.Fully aware that if you’re after a bargain in this current climate there is plenty to look at,but still think this plot is a great one and this window of opportunity may not be there for long,(hoping!!) ;)

I did a search of the site, I found this, but no need to open, as other people asking, the final post was from Admin, saying it had been moved

hopefully someone will post how to do it for you.

Our agents have just told us that a similar plot of land has sold in Gavalachori (not as amazing as ours -lol ) so things are looking up. Pm me for details and I can e-mail you with lovely photos of this huge secluded plot of land near Vamos. :D

I hope the new buyers do a search! We bought a "perfect plot of land" in 2004 and we have been surrounded by filthy, stinking, noisy roadworks for 15 months with no sign of finishing and the very last thing we wanted was to be next to a tarmac road with concrete walls and drains everywhere, not to mention the idiots (polite phrase) who drive up and down leaving clouds of suffocating dust to envelope our garden and pool! However, this had been planned after we bought the land. Let the buyer beware! Greece can ruin your life! Rant over but serious warning!

To be fair Gem ,that happens everywhere, not just Greece, I hope it comes to an end soon, 15 months of that must be awful-glad I’m not holidaying there! Just to point out that MY ‘perfect plot of land’ can’t be built on nearby so shouldn’t be bad after the villa is built, but I know nowhere is safe from noise pollution (or idiots) :)

Cheers Ganesh! I felt a bit guilty after I posted my rant but I hope you sell your plot soon. We are desperate to sell but although our property is fabulous as a result of all our hard work, the current conditions of the surrounding environment are horrible. After spending a couple of hours with the council today, I am seriously starting to think that they are incapable of finishing the project so the misery continues.

No worries, it’ll be easier selling land with a house on it, I’m sure and always good to have a rant. I was just pleased to see land selling again!
A house we bought in UK was in such a lovely, peaceful cul-de-sac and then they decided to ‘extend’ a school close by which was incredibly noisy every day from 8am and it went on for over year! We are not safe anywhere. >:(

Been out to Crete again recently and pleased to see our favourite tavernas thriving. After conversations with the estate agent and lawyer it seems that land sales and values are still quite low and that the recession has seen a glut of lots of smaller cheaper plots for sale. We still want to sell this lovely secluded part of Apokoronus , but it is obviously not going to happen at this price at this moment in time and we are hoping it will recover in a few years. We are putting the price down for a quick sale now to £150K,(please pm me for more details) and if our situation changes in that time we may re-think and build on it after all, as we will have lost so much money it won’t be worth selling any lower. :-/ We are still not desperate to sell, thankfully!
It is still as lovely as when we bought it but it is getting a bit overgrown now. Have been advised to leave until the end of the summer to strim down (as some of it might die down anyway) but if anyone has any ideas of who could do this for us and at what price (its nearly 6000sqmts) then let me know.
