We are thinking of building a 8 x 4m pool – anyone got any advice for complete beginners?

Is the tax less for above ground as opposed to sunken and what might we be thinking of cost wise?

There is a luxury tax on all pools, regardless of size or type of construction.

Obviously, how much you pay depends on the size of the pool, and also on your specific tax status.

Talk to your accountant before you commit to anything, but bear in mind you will never second guess the Greek taxman.  They constantly fiddle with the laws to maximise their revenue.

As a pool owner, (like me), you will always be a target.

You may find the requirements in terms of building permit are less stringent if it’s above ground.  Talk to an engineer.
