Some good news — at least in the Lassithi, Crete prefecture. It seems that you can present your #UK Driving licence (be it from any of the issuing authorities in the country) WITHOUT THE NEED TO BE TRANSLATED INTO #GREEK! There had obviously been discussions going on about this being an unnecessary extra burden on the applicant.
The K.E.P. office in Agios Nikolaos says that British applicants can go to their office with all the required documents to apply to swap from a British Driving Licence to A Greek Driving Licence and dedicated staff there will help fill out the application form (which is in Greek). This, when completed can be taken by the applicant to the driving local driving licence office in the prefecture.
Hope that helps.
