I’d like to introduce my latest book to you: “A Guide for Pet Owners in Greece – Dogs and Cats – Residents and Tourists“. There are two versions available: an A5-format paperback book (10€) and an e-book (4€). Both books have 200 pages divided into two parts: the first part for dog-, the second part for cat-owners.

This guide is intended for all pet-owners living or planning to live in Greece, as well as for all the tourists wishing to adopt a pet during their holidays.

A majority of foreigners living in Greece has rescued and/or adopted a dog, a cat or both. Residents and foreigners planning to come to live in Greece with their pet(s) want to know precisely how to travel safely and how to respect the Greek law. The same questions cross the mind of those tourists wanting to adopt a pet and take it with them to their homeland. They are all pet-lovers and have their heart set on doing everything that’s necessary to provide their pet(s) with the compulsory papers, veterinary care, disease-prevention methods, shelter and to comply with the law.

There is too much false or incomplete information; too much unreliable advice scattered around on internet-forums or conveyed among people. That’s why the goal of this book is to discuss each of these topics and much more in-depth. It gives each one of you, concerned with his pet’s welfare, dog or cat, an answer to his queries.

        A summary of the content:
HEALTH and VETERINARY CARE: Pet passport, Microchip, Core and non-core vaccines in Greece, Vaccination table, Infectious diseases, Biosecurity procedures,  Protection against parasites, Pet poisoning, Acute haemorrhage, Heat Stroke,  Other medical problems (Spikelet, Arthropod bites and stings, Snake bites, Anaphylactic shock), Neutering

DOG FOOD : Feeding table, A dog is not a carnivore!
FREE-RANGING DOGS: Pet adoption in Greece (Residents, Tourists)

DOG COMPANIONSHIP: Canine psychology, Dog education, Dog activities, Back to Greece (Barrel dogs, Pets on a private property, in a rented property, hotels, on the beach, in the sea)

TRAVEL: Dog transport, Travel-requirements inside Greece (by plane, ferries, train, public transport, car, with a taxi, by van), Travel-requirements from and to EU countries or third party countries.

        GREEK LAW EXPLAINED

Couldn’t find the "Edit" bar to make corrections to my post. Here’s the message I wanted to add:
Due to major changes in the European regulations regarding pet travel from December 29, 2014 onwards, my book has been updated in its second edition.
See my other post on the forum "Pets …"
