Whether we get our pensions increased annually or not depends on the UK Government not the EU. As regards purchasing property, Norway and Switzerland are not members of the EU yet many Norwegians in Aghios Nikolaos and several Swiss in Ierapetra own houses here that I know to. Also the Greeks know where their bread is buttered – we pay our taxes and utility bills on time, spend money in Crete, and most of us don’t work so are certainly not depriving the local population of jobs. This is just another pro-EU Guardian story again! :P

even more worrying then, as 47% of the total welfare budget consists of State Pension payments and the UK Government have promised huge Welfare cuts

Also how would the IKA Health treatment that we as pensioners qualify for be affected, nearly all expats that I know here have used or are using this system?

as they say " be very careful what you wish for you may get it some day" ;)
