I see about VPN and xpat shield. But why not have a dedicated site for x pats in crete? There are many live streaming websites which dont require IP changes for viewing.
I could add a website with loads of live movies like sky and directories for on demand movies and docs and TVshows. Would you like it. I do it free
just a idea

You may be a very straight up person, but ….
You "trade" web sites according to my searches on the Internet.
You said in your post above that you will offer sky movies for "free". That sounds like something very dubious in my book.
If you are looking for attention to yourself and what you can legitimately offer people on Crete, you should use the Self Promotion board – and follow the rules set out there.
"Caveat emptor" everyone …. no ‘free’ lunches in this world ….

sorry, not looking for self promotion in TV thread. Was just offering some of my internet web experience which could show you alternatives to using VPN and paid services.
There are many live streaming websites available on the net which play 2011 movies like Sky and are free.
I have showed friends in my home town some of these sites and they have been welcomed.
This is a thread for TV on the internet so I believe my post was correctly posted in the right section.
Yes please, I would like to see what you have to offer.
I am not offering a service, but there are many good live streaming services which provide HD channels which play movies and documentary content including popular TV series.
One site is justin.tv you can find 2011 movies here and sports including Tv show slike Stargate
“>http://www.justin.tv/directory/entertainment
My fave is Veetle.com
It has over 120 live entertainment channels on average every day.
http://veetle.com/index.php/listing#entertainment/popular/1
this site requires a download for HD quality but apart from that its relitive advert free.
These sites run of a Greek internet connection quite well.
If your looking for all UK TV channels and want to pay a fee/
filmon http://www.filmon.com/tv/htmlmain/
provides expat with bBBC1 BBC2 ITV and most free to air channels for a small monthly fee. It ok as I have seen it working at a friends house in Crete.
But back to fee sites.
Other sites include istream, upstream
You will find various channels from the US and UK, some music channels and sports.
This is a small example of whats out there.
I know of free on demand movie sites too.
I may make a simple directory of channels to make it easy to find content you want. Or maybe brits in crete would make a thread for adding good channels worth watching?
I know, its cold here in malia! nothing like a good movie to cheer the day.. be great for a listing area here on the forum to post channels of interest.

I am well aware of how you can supply terrestrial TV transmissions of BBC1 and ITV1 from UK to Crete.
Here is the way I want you to handle your communication with those BiC members who have interest in your free service that you offer.
You communicate through PM not through publicly readable postings.
Members: if you wish to take this service, DO IT PRIVATELY, PM InternetMalia – not openly, here in the forum.
InternetMalia – I do not want to see you running lists of channels you offer in any postings not even to state you offer BBC1. IT IS ILLEGAL. Please do not argue this point with me.
Please make your own website and add a www button to your BiC profile.
I too know of ways to get BBC without the need for your service. It is complicated for the non-techie. That is why I do not bother.
For my own opinion, I believe that according to EU media laws all terrestrial TV channels licensed in UK should be made available anywhere within EU borders to British citizens who want them. I am not however taking on the UK government or the BBC to get my way. Anyone want to start a petition to David Cameron?

I thought I had come to Greece to live . wrong .. I seem to have been transported to 1960s East Berlin . The guy is only trying to help ex pats abroad , I thought that this site was all about trying to help others.. Oh well , .. <ducks very low and takes shelter in case Gerald reads this >
ADMIN, Gerald
im not offering a free service! just telling members here how to find free legal TV which does not breach any BBC law or anything illegal.
I got PMs in regards to this I quote maybe we should all sit on "naughty step" lol. To view free online TV without illegal methods including (expat shield) which you seem to ignore I just told people here how to find a free solution. I dont want to make a site for this. But will if you want? free for you.But as you said before that would be self promotion and i dont want to break the rules and post self promotion 2 times as its not allowed. If youwant me to make a site then please tel me and it will be totally free. Legal.
regards
