We were in our local Cafeneon last week, the owner put some mezzies on a plate , so i scoffed this scrambled egg with potatoes in the middle.

I have never tasted such a delicious bit of egg in my life. i have searched Google and all my Greek cook books and cannot find it .

Do any of you know what this tasty scrambled egg recipie is called, or do you have a way of making it yourself.

I asked the owner but they speak little English and don`t understand what I am trying to explain to them.

Please help , I must make this dish as it is to die for.

It’s quite common here to scramble leftovers as a brunch/lunch dish. No real recipe. I had a leftover Greek salad scrambled with some eggs down in Azogyres; it was fantastic.

localy they fry the potatoes like chips and then add the eggs and end up with a chip omelette. Try looking under recipes for "Sfungato"

Eleni…. what you describe is much the same as we had, the potatoes looked like they were pre roasted between egg.

So it could be that there were left over roast potatoes done in an omlette in a sprinkling of herbs do you think ??

If so , I notice that the main herb used here is Origano more than anything, but the whole thing tasted sweet and yet had a kick in it.

maybe there were a couple of "squished" insects in there?

In which case it could really be "to die for".
I always find that a disturbing expression, but especially so in connection with food.

Eleni 13…. So sorry I offended you with my expression, perhaps I should have used the term " soul food ". Would that be an agreeable term ?

It is, of course. That’s why I expressed an opinion. :)
