Celebrate One the most Auspicious Holidays in the Greek Orthodox Church Calendar

Wishing each and everyone of you on this very special day, Xronia Polla.
It is a day of respect for Christian traditions and values.

It is a wonderful tale as recounted in the Bible that covers two happenings on this day in ancient history.

Remember The Three Wise Men? This is the day they are are said to have visited the young Jesus bearing three gifts, one each of Gold, Frankincense and Myrrh. This was the sign of the highest respect recognising what they believed he represented as the King of Kings.

And it is this day, the preacher known as John the Baptist baptized Jesus.

The Greek Orthodox Church seriously honours these traditions to this day.

Just remember, the country of Greece would not be the same without the Orthodox Church intertwined and woven into almost all aspects of life. While today’s generation of young people may not be so committed, it is part of the Greek family tradition that they ignore at their peril.
