        hi I have had a copy of a receipt that states I have to pay the greek government 2600 euros (reduced) because my house had arbiteries that had to be fixed, ready for selling,I thought there was an amnesty on fines re property.does anyone know what is going on?

            here are details of the scheme introduced a couple of years ago for alterations and irregularities with your plans, added pergolas, conversion of basements to living space etc.
            as you see this article was published last year.

            you had to have submitted your claim and then paid the fines in installments.

            the other scheme was for illegally built homes, which gives the owner the next 30 years without having to have the house demolished, but this does not make the house legal. maybe you have confused the two different schemes?

            fines are still applied with both schemes

                No amnesty on fines, anything that is not on your permit you will be fined for.

                    Thank you both for the advice I feel happier knowing it is right. not that I dont trust a greek ::)
