I have brought back with me from the UK a satellite Freesat box, has anyone else tried this system, I have read that they are able to work in Spain, Portugal, etc so thought it might work here, this box allows you to get all English terrestrial channels so i am led to believe
        Many Thanks

You won’t get ALL English terrestrial channels anywhere outside the UK, since they are receivable only via an aerial and Freeview receiver. You’ll get some English satellite TV channels (but not all, in Crete).

Since the most desirable Freesat channels are mostly broadcast from Astra 2D, you’ll need at least a 4.5m dish here. Otherwise, with a 1.2m dish (absolute minimum), you’ll get such delights as Sky News, BBC News 24, AlJazeera News, CNN News, several "God" channels, several shopping channels, True Movies, Film 24…

You’ll do slightly better with a Sky Digibox and Freesat card (ITV, five, fiver, five USA, CH4, CH4+1) and better still with a Sky subscription.
