Hi, Our house is finally ready for furniture after all the renovations. We intend to use it as a holiday home until we retire in a couple of years, so can’t afford too much. Does anyone know where we can purchase a sofa bed at a reasonable price in in the south east. Our nearest town is Sittia.

            Hi Caskiecat,

If you don’t have any joy close to where you are, try Media Strom in Dimokratia Street in Aghios Nikolaos. Chris there speaks good English and would probably deliver, though he might make a small charge for doing so over that distance. Very fair prices and a wide range of fabrics.

I got a nicw bed at the ferociously expensive looking furniture shop there on the sea front in Siyia. Everything in the windows is terrifying but wheb yo go inside they have all sorts. Thye speak English too and disn’t charge for delivery

There are several furniture shops in Sitia, some more expensive than others. Try the one on the hill leading out of town, the Heraklion road. It is on the righthand side, on a righthand bend not far past the police station.
