Did you realise that the £Sterling strengthened against the Euro by around 10pc in the July 2013 to July 2014 Period?

UK pensioners taking their pensions in the eurozine (including the rise in April from £110.15 to £113.10 per week for the basic state pension) saw their income rise by €661.24 to €7,344.44 per annum by July this year.

But as we know, taking any pension from UK, the currency can also work against us living in the eurozone area. This was witnessed just in the recent hectic weeks of the Scotland Vote.

As a result of the referendum, the Pound took a hit from €1.26 to €1.24 from September 4 to September 10, 2014 over concerns about the result.

To see today’s exchange rate, you can check the currency market rates lower down this forum’s page.
