        Jet2.com to Fly Newcastle – Heraklion 2010

Did you pick up on the fact that low cost airline Jet2.com – http://www.jet2.com – will add flights to Heraklion from Newcastle next summer. This is in addition to other scheduled flights from East Midlands, Manchester Terminal 1 and Leeds Bradford.

Article on the adding of jobs at Jet2.com Newcastle: The Northern Echo:

        Fares to start at £69.99

What’s your experience of using jet2.com? Good, bad, indifferent?

We have used Jet2 to/from Leeds-Bradford, the onboard experience is very good, service, legroom etc, but gradually the prices are going up by adding more and more things as extras as  per Ryanair.

Just been booking flights next year to/from Newcastle, they are now charging you to check-in as an extra !!  I am not sure how this can be classed as an extra – how do you fly without checking in??

If you check in online with no bags there is no charge, small charge with bag and a charge of 6 pounds for normal check in with one bag.
All the airlines are now trying to get people to check in on line as it will keep costs down.

Jet2 list these as "extras" – are you suggesting its now acceptable to charge €10 return for online check-in, or €18 for airport check-in, as "extras" ??  (or do you work for Jet2?)

It cost nothing to check-in online last year, so why do you think charging €10 now is ok?

You seem to be missing the point here Latsida – all these "small charges" as you call them add up, no doubt future "small charges/extras" will be to pay for the bus across to the plane, and a further "small charge" to use the steps up to the door.  Another "small charge" of course to use the loo.

I probably am missing the point as usual ::)
Ok flying will probably never return to the cheap and easy way it was a few years ago.
however have just looked at their site and the fees for check in are- online 0
                        online one bag 3 pounds
airportl checkin no bag 3 pounds with bag 6 pounds, but that was for a one way flight.there is also a fee for your luggage etc.etc.
No I do not work for them ,was agreeing with you really but just pointing out that to keep the basic flight costs down many airlines are bringing in these ‘extras’.Hope no one from the airlines see your suggestions for more extras or they may adopt them as well ;)

Did you notice that a seat is also classed as an " extra ".

                            6.99 for a standard seat
19.99 for extra leg room. ( this one I can understand ).

Would’nt it be so much easier if they just stated the full price of the ticket, with perhaps, a deduction of 10 pounds or so for anyone traveling without luggage ???.
