What a shambles! I deducted this tax when paying my electric bill, on the basis of don’t pay till you absolutely have to. My last bill showed a credit for the amount of the tax!!! So now I apparently no longer owe this on my electric, but still of course owe to the tax man.

If the article is correct, presumably the tax will be added back to the bill, together with this year’s tax!!! Greece could have paid off it’s national debt with all the money wasted on administering this tax. :D

but look at the interest you have accrued by holding on to your money :D
seriously though how can Greece pay off its debts if people withhold payment , or have I misunderstood?

I sort of agree with you, but having watched various taxes and amnesties and repealed laws come and go, I’ve gone Greek, and I decide whether to pay or not based on whether I think it’s fair……… I do pay all the normal taxes.

I also think I agree with you in an anarchic sort of way but I just paid up in the conventional way ;)

it will become a "normal tax" soon I am sure

my tax works out about eight euros a week , so no big deal just a couple of beers less for Tom!
