Does anyone know what has become of "limnes" aka maurice
i dont know him personaly but just noticed he hasent made any recent posts, and prior to the sites problems earlier in the year he used to be a regular poster with good info.
Maurice & Jan have come back from visiting England, like me as (Until last week) he probably is not aware that the site is back up and running.
We met up with them the last week in August and when we spoke about the site his impression was that it would never be resurrected. So maybe he is still unaware.
Unfortunately, the power supply in Jan’s machine (through which we route our broadband access) developed a fault, though it was only replaced a few weeks before we left. That reduced us to a very slow dialup access for a few days, but finally all is now well! :)
I can thoroughly recommend Arles & the Camargue, a lovely historic town in which they are carefully restoring the Roman amphitheatre. Also the old Etruscan/Roman fortress town of Volterra in Tuscany – not far from photogenic Pisa and Larderello, the site of Europe’s largest geo-thermal power station and well worth a visit. :P
And just to make you envious, unleaded petrol in Piraeus was a mere 99.9 lepta per litre! ;D
I wish I could have had the same prices in Italy, which at one point hit 1.44 per litre! :'(
And the last few days in Crete have been the warmest we have encountered for over seven weeks! ::)
