Officially the date for this year’s March #Equinox, or the official first day of spring. Did you know this year is the earliest for 120 years? March 20 this year is also Palm Sunday (the Sunday preceding the western churches’ Easter).  #Orthodox #Easter Sunday is May 1st ( dates up to 2026)

But it probably won’t make too much difference in the Mediterranean. So in #Crete to get out in the garden, and start planting the veggies for summer. Days are currently warm and evenings cool.

It is also the time when usually the Bermuda Buttercups and other spring flowers dot the meadows, sides of the roads and olive groves. (Anyone care to comment how good they are or aren’t in your area?)

I was amazed that March 20 has a weird collection of other celebrations…
