cripes, that is something U shud have done before you left UK to get one for 12months, along with Road Tax & Insurance. Suggest U get it back to UK B4 it runs out. U may keep a foreign car in Greece for up to 6months. dont know if U want to change to Greek plates, but to import I think will cost U a few thousand and umpteem paperwork, I’ve no idea whether have to take it out of the country again or not? I believe some families have a few cars and they take it turn to bring car into greece for 6 months at a time, each time in a different name for the 6 months of the 12 months. Other Europeans mostly do not have so far to travel. If people do that, then an opportunity to take stuff either to UK or whatever country and vis-versa. One should make a little holiday of the trip, cheap accommodation in Austria and France for overnight stay, france with pre-booking around 35Euro+ at Premier 1 for room for night with ship size shower /sink/wc. They have restaurant beside. The Tirol district of Austria, booked a room for 1night near where the village mentioned on the main thread for travelling via BiC website, for less than 40euro and all items given for breakfast in the apartment, that was huge. Think the TV had all cable channels, but only listened to music and enjoyed the views from the balcony. It is also worth stopping off at shopping centre to look around and compare prices. Every country has its own highs/lows. Suggest those using Dover, look at dunqercue connection with Norfolk lines, as have good rates for cars. Experience has been they so far always allowed to board either previous or later ferry than one booked, so dont cross Sat/Sun night, as closed for maintenance. That part of the Road to Calais has a high Toll charge for a short distance, so also u avoid that.

Maybe someone else has a suggestion to help you avoid having to return now? good luck

You have to go to a KTEO testing centre they are both public and private centres
However if your car is still UK registered I do not know if you can get it done here, maybe someone else has the answer to that one.
the MOT is first carried out here when the car is four years old and then every two years.
you also need an emissions test, yearly I think , though not sure as I do not have a car here .
The MOT test costs around 50 euros ,do a search on the web and you should find all the answers to your questions or

I use the KTEO station about 9 km from Heraklion on the Heraklion to Moires road.
When I was in Crete in October I was also given a flyer for a new KTEO that had opened on the Fonika road.
Not sure if they’ll MOT a UK car though.

                            Ros.

I am 99 per cent sure that they will not MOT a UK car. The test here is completely different from the UK and not nearly as comprehensive.

Unless things have changed in the last few months …

it is not that they will not do, it is they are not licensed to do so.
Please anyone if you are bringing a car from UK, make sure you have an mot for 10 to 12 months before you leave, minimal cost compared to consequence/s.

on one of the forum websites it states that all vehicles entering Greece are required to go to a KTEO centre for a test, although this may not be as comprehensive as a UK MOT it is still required, though I doubt if many people do this
