Please can anyone shed any light as why my computor has reverted back to jan 1st 2004 on the date and time? I have reset this every day for a week, left the internet on etc and applyed and saved as it requested but still this morning it stated 1st jan 2004 time 00.40? Any ideas appreciated.
        Thanks,
        Brenda. :o

            Hi Brenda
Sounds as if it is your back up battery on the motherboard needs replacing.
It is designed to keep all your settings when the PC is turned off.
It is a small flat battery, about 2cm in diameter, they normally go flat after a few years.
They are not expensive – just a couple of Euros and easy to fit if you are even slightly competant.
If not, there are plenty of people that could lend you a hand.
