Brits in Crete have something of a reputation for holding their own in the drinks department.
So guys if this is the case what is our favourite tipple?

I suppose living in the Emerald Isle my favourite tipple should be Guinness. To my shame though I much prefer beer for a long night. I do however have varied tastes and my tipple can change depending on my mood. Ken.

I can’t believe that having moved to the country of olives and wine, I am the only one to have voted for red wine as my favourite tipple!

I like red wine Mike and thats what I mainly drink at home and would no doubt drink in Crete but in a hot climate and long evenings I would probably opt for beer as I could pace myself better.  ;)

Question: A vote was cast in favour of a Men Only board and Gerald kindly agreed. Why are their not more participants? :-/  Ken.

                        Hi
Have only joined recently so unfortunately the poll was closed, I personally would start with ice cold lager and then move onto ouzo and lemonade. I remember my first one about 8 years ago when I had a week in Milatos and been hooked ever since. Think i’ll be bring some back with me in September, the price is outrageous here esp in Asian shops £19.50 for a 70cl bottle !

                                Guys

I thought I would open this poll again see if more of you wished to comment on your favourite drink and why.

This poll is open to guests, although they cannot post.

My idea is to see if drinking habits have changed during this downturn in the economy.

I would appreciate if members could comment if they are cutting down, changing to another drink, whatever and post a comment to that effect.

As for medical reasons I am not allowed fizzy drinks, that lets out beer. I don’t particularly like red wine or any spirit bar the occasional gin. So I am forced to vote for white wine.  :(

                                        Maurice,

It is really very good to see you visiting once again.

Noting your comment, life must be tough if you can’t have a fizzy tonic to go with the gin!

That reminds me, on my travels, I noted with shock, horror that many brands of canned Tonic Water no longer add Quinine.

And why would it be removed? I thought that gave the drink the extra kick as it hit the back of the throat and helped with the "feel good" factor.

What is the world coming to?

                                        Gerald

well i prefer white wine. can anyone recommend a good one? i like them fruity and sweet.

about the quinine in the tonic water, was it removed from all of them? i sometimes suffer from leg cramps and would always drink it to help with them.
