Once again I am subject to theft from my GREEK neighbour, last year it was my electricity from an outside plug, which has now been isolated and now,got a phone bill with lots of calls after I left,? my friends say there is a wire going from the pole outside to their house, next door which is not part of OTE, but it has ended up on my bill.
As I am in the uk I cant do anything, eccept cancel my bank payments,so OTE have now lost a customer I wont be paying either, shame, because  OTE are good. like BT in the uk sorry OTE.
so the morrel is BUYER BE AWARE !!! if you are thinking of going to crete to live, give it another thought..wish I had. never known a country like it. :(  its not what its pictured to be !!!!

Do as the Greeks do, and for that matter what you would do in the UK if someone stole from you, and report it to the police.  It may take time and yards of red tape, but they will deal with it.  Has someone got access to your property without you knowing? Maybe copied keys etc? I hope you manage to get to the bottom of this horrible situation for you.

Will the Police do anything???? And how long will this take? Berty, think you have done the right thing! Agree with your comments. Shame you’ve had to cancel your OTE line as they are like gold dust. Do your neighbours have friends who work for OTE? Don’t trust anyone here.

all bills are itemised with times, dates and numbers ,you should be able to track down the culprits quite easily.
report this to OTE and the police,
there are complaints contact details on their website

Thankyou for your replies it is a bad situation, I suffer from nightmares with it as I have an ongoing trauma illness, and moving here is the worst move I have ever made,I have lost trust in greece and my rose coloured glasses have lost there colour, I can see clearly now,
I have had to get a lawyer to go to OTE for me to try to sort it out. I wrote to OTE they replied to say I would have to go in person to them ahh! things to remember if anyone is thinking of a life in crete, think again ! :(

There was an easy answer to your phone problem report a fault with the line and while they are there ask should there be extra wires coming from the pole.
I hope you have not isolated your outside plug permanently just put a switch on the inside that way you can still use it.
