I have used Moneybookers ( which is an on-line service, for the last 4 years and they have been fine. They are FSA regulated. I transfer money from my English bank account to my Moneybookers account which takes about 3 working days and then into my Greek bank account which takes about another 3 working days. The most I have paid is £3 (for about £2k) from Moneybookers to my Greek account and usually 3 Euros from my Greek account for receiving the money. I am also able to collect my pink slips by transferring the money in this way. I have no problems with them at all.

Referring back to my previous post and reopening this discussion again, I used Transferwise every month last year and will continue to do so.

Very impressed with their exchange rates and they charge only a quid to transfer up to 200 quid.

Also their transfer speed is amazingly quick. I have been transferring money to Transferwise e.g 10pm Monday and its been in my greek bank Tues by 5pm.

Like their website says ‘ Bye Bye Banks, you’ve had your fun’
