For a family with a few children or for a couple of friends, renting a house is often cheaper and easier than booking a hotel and it is certainly more convivial.
Aretaki Villas in the little village of Astrartigos on the Rhodopos peninsula in western Crete, have a breathtaking view on both the surrounding mountains and on the Gulf of Chania. These three brand new traditional build villas with swimming pool have fashionable charm combining tradition and modern facilities well worth their moderate price. Their location is unique: in a peaceful village, yet close to the nearest towns (Kolimbari, Kasteli and Chania) and to the beaches. It is an ideal starting point to discover the surroundings, never far away: gorges, churches and monasteries, archeological sites, the peninsula of Gramvoussa and its wonderful bay, not to mention the unique beach of Falasarna!
Have a look at their website http://www.aretakivillas.com It will persuade you this is the place where you want to spend your next holidays!

Pluto has no personal interest at all in Aretaki Villas since he lives in Kasteli. This post was published on demand of a couple of French friends who stayed there twice for 15 days and who were enchanted by the kindness and hospitality of their hosts and who wished to share their experience with this forum-visitors. Since they have difficulties in writing in English, they asked me to be their intermediary.
I carefully checked where and if I was allowed to write this post, reading the precedent posts which also advertise short time holiday lets, so I do not understand stalos’ remark. He could have alerted the administrator if he thought this post was inacceptable or not in the right place and I trust Admin would have written a note or deleted it, if it was, which he still can do.
