Interesting Week in Greece – Acropolis for Free, Corfu Museum Closes for Repairs and Freak Tornado Hits Kythnos

Athens – Striking contract workers at the Acropolis changed tactics yesterday: from blocking visitors entering the ancient site to allowing them in for free.

Corfu –  Since yesterday, Corfu’s archaeological museum is out of action for an indefinite period of time to have repairs made to it.

Kythnos – On Thursday, the tiny island of Kythnos in the Western Cyclades between Kea and Serifos was hit by a small size tornado. Several homes, cars and boats were damaged in the freak storm.  Electricity and telephone polls were downed cutting service for a time.
