Effective August 28, 2015 Paylink-Western Union in Greece says you can send up to €500 a month to any other of the company’s offices around the globe.

Outbound service was suspended during the recent closure of the banks.

Inbound remittances continue to be permitted  to a maximum of €6000 per transaction.

In Greece there are about 1,000  Paylink – Western Union service points where you can send or receive cash on the basis of just an ID card or passport for identification and without a bank account.

The National Bank of Greece is setting the current limits that can be transacted as part of currency exchange controls.
