I have a holiday home in the East of Crete which I go to several times a year and stay for a short while, I have very good Greek neighbours who help a lot so I have been bring over gifts which has normally been chocolates for the ladies and Scotch for the men but I can see times are getting harder i.e. smokers have gone from cigarettes to rollups, so I thought what is expensive in Greece but cheap in UK and is not too big to go in the luggage so last time I got some toothpaste, hair shampoo and washing tabs, at long last I get to the point is that the best things to get or what else should I get ? up to about £10 and item (as the wife says I am as tight as a ducks a*** which is water tight) would be grateful for your info. Pat

Stick with the whisky and chocs. ;) , or buy cakes when you get here these are the usual gifts for friends
or buy the whisky here as well as it is cheaper here than the UK, especially now that the exchange rate is so good

                Chocolate oranges. :-p

Clothing and electrical goods seem expensive here.
Can’t buy a knitted string floorcloth at any price!

Funnily enough, I did exactly that when I was 8 years old. Nowadays my time is more precious and I lack the patience.
