Please ask him to call me on 6932-973642 asap. Our client would like to have a full list by Tuesday the latest. Many thanks for your reply. Regards.
Dear Grocer. Thank you so much for letting me know this info. Believe it or not even up to last night I was still searching for info in the internet to really try and understand what happened to Max. You can read about one condition on it’s own but Max had one that I now realise caused something else and so on.
I was going to speak to the vet again to get the full story, but now thanks to you I have understood what happened and after reading through the relevant sites again, even though I feel awful and keep asking myself ‘Could I have saved him’ I believe that putting him to sleep was the kindest thing I could do.
Thank you very much once again for taking the time to help.
Very very sadly I had to have my lovely Max put to sleep last night. He died peacefully in my arms. Although this is the kindest thing that I could do for him I am devasted. We had never been apart in ten and a half years.
I am letting you all know what happened as I have met, had messages and calls from people who have said that they have been following Maxs story.
We cured Maxs gasterinteritus and Peter was completely correct with his oxalis poisoning diagnosis, but then Max got sick a few days later with some thing totally unconnected and some thing I had never heard of. Narrowing of the esophagus. It comes on suddenly and is impossible to cure without surgery which in itself is extremely specialised. The problem was that the original illness was so close time wise to what eventually happened to him it was hard to detect in the beginning.
When it was originally diagnosed we tried several things but Maxs age was against him. The final two days he got worse, it was awful to see him when he coughed and after discovering what would eventually happen to him I decided that I loved him to much to ever let him suffer so I had put down.
For those of you who knew Max and his history I know that you will be sad to hear this news. He was probably the most famous dog in the area. He had a brilliant character and was too clever for his own paws!
Once again I really would like to thank every one for their help.
God love you Max as much as I did my furry friend :'(
Certainly will let you know if any thing happens and we cant make it. Would be selfish not to. But so far so good. If any one is looking for any baby things like combined baby bath and changing table, carry cot, chicco high chair, a solid wooden cot that turns in to a bed, etc etc, all in excellent condition please come along and find me I am normally towards the end by the bridge!
O give us a break…..Some of us have been here so long we don’t even write English correctly any more never mind have time to nit pick over nearest spellings for gods sake!!
100% coming. Have spent today up in the loft. Came down as black as Newgates Knocker. That was at 10 this morning and I am still sorting out now!! Stacks of baby and kids stuff. Clothes etc there are even two authentic Chinese Wash rugs up there and a table!!!……am I coming? You bet ya boots I am :D
My friend is also coming with me. We are going to try to come in one truck rather than two cars but have two tables. If any thing changes…broken legs etc you’ll be the first to know Paul. :)
P.s I really do understand your concern but I have never booked a place at any sale and then not just turned up…..that is selfish!!
Can’t open the photos. Is it me and my lack of computor skills???!!! :-/
Jon you are a star!! Thank you so much for going to trouble of looking for me. Best wishes. :)
Hi Paul. Thank you so much for the info. Unfortunetely I wasn’t able to go. But will need the phone number for future bookings as I know it’s a really good event :)
Still looking for help for Max. Although he is a lot better he still is getting sick, thick clear flem with froth after he eats. The vets are completely baffled. We are changing his medicine from today. Cutting out the anti-biotics and staying with zantac injections twice a day and milk of magnesia. If he is not any better by Monday, we have to give this a chance to work, he will go for an x-ray.
The weird thing is that he is now bounding around with no stiffness in his legs…but some times is still feeling sorry for himself. Any one with any ideass and I mean any ideas please please let me know.
Steve you’ve been a lot of help. I never thought of any of that. Thank you very much :)
No problem and thank you for your apology. I always have a lot of time for people who can make that gesture! :)
I decided to ask on the internet as his symptoms are very confusing until they suddenly make sense….if you follow me and probably only some one who has been down this road would be able to help. One of the vets who seen Max is a very experienced German vet and she came to the same conclusions as one of the Greek vets but then 48 hours later some of his symptoms changed and he got worse.
This is going to take time and hopefully not a lot of trial and error. I just want him to get better and of course all of the oxalis is being removed from the garden……just don’t know what I’m doing about the hundreds of stremmata around us!! :-/
Scooby I have just been to chemist to collect the milka magnesia I asked them to get. Had not heard of Primperan or seen your post at the time. Ordered xantac injections and will try the honey even though he has not been dehydrated throughout his illness, it will give him a bit of energy. Finally will be praying hard. This was a rescue dog. I got him at 4 months old and we have been best friends ever since. I know it sounds daft but I love him to bits, he’s funny, great company especially for my daughter and the only thing he can’t do is talk!!
Thanks to you and again every one for all your concern and help. I will post and let you all know his progress.
I would like to thank every one who posted, sent me PMs and even called me about Max. Most of you don’t even know me personally so I was even more touched by the response. THANK YOU.
I have checked out all ideas. Some such as Bloat for example, both I and one of the vets had already checked. But all ideas were very gratefully recieved especially the one that came from Peter at Cretan Kennels.
After phoning Peter and telling him the symptoms he immediately asked if we had any oxalis growing in the garden. We do. Stacks of it. It’s poisonous to dogs. I checked out the symptons on the web and what it can lead to. Colic is one thing. Max has all the symptoms, including the raised spine and the raised hind leg and some times legs. We think that he started with Gastrenteritous, he ate the grass and flowers which he has done many many times in the past, but in his weakened condition his little body cant cope, hence the adverse effects!
After checking many other sites including chats from people whose dogs have been thru this illness, I discovered the best cure is Milk of Magnesia, Gripe water and some times an injection of Xantac.
Peter no wonder your kennels are so popular, your knowledge always amazes me. THANK YOU and again thank you to every one who contacted me. I will know over the next 48 hours if our working out is correct. Very difficult when the symptoms kept changing. Fingers crossed we are on the right track now :)

There is a very famous saying that goes; ‘Never pressume it makes a fool out of both you and I’
So in answer no I wouldn’t expect a diagnosis from any one over the phone that’s why the dog has already been to three vets :-/
The car boot sale was really good this month in Pigi. I sold loads and even better was that the price of the tables has gone down from 10 to 5 euros and coffee is now only 50 cents. Am getting ready for next month! ;D
Hi stuart and Kathy. What colour is the oven and did you have an amount in mind? If you could give me an idea that would be great.
I think it is now fully booked Nicky girl. Tthey are using inside and out. It should be really really good. Because you know me. I’m not just there to sell. I LOVE to buy!!

I’ve been with WIND for years. Mobile since 1998? when it was TELTSTET and also now for many years my home phone and internet are both WIND. Most of the time I’m really happy with them. Helped me really a lot when something happened to my internet connection etc etc. But of course like any big company there have been a couple of times that I could have strangled them. But on the whole I’m very happy with them!
